Some challenges met, others to overcome..

You can sure see a lot of things happen in a 2 week time frame!

It is hard to believe that we have been here that long already. In my last post I wrote about some of the prayers requests we had and challenges we are facing. Praise the Lord we have seen several things work out!

Last Saturday we were able to purchase a van. We have paid for it as it is owned by a U.S. citizen who is not here currently and on paper owned by a Guatemalan. Now, in the U.S. this might be scary... who am I kidding, it is here too! We are not alarmed but need to get the paperwork straightened out along with several other things. We are very thankful to have it. It is more than we have now but we believe in the long run was our best option. Hopefully it will have my name on the title soon!

The first week of schooling went really well for the children. Thanks for your prayers. It is a big adjustment but they have seemed to fit right in. Each one faces some obstacles but we are very optimistic that each one will be met and conquered!

We still have not secured a bank account here and need to get some paperwork done in the U.S. to start our residency process. Also, it may seem small, but it is a huge deal to get a cell phone here for more than one person. Right now I am trying to get that done also. This is not a city in which you want to be stranded, let alone without any way reach a loved one or receive help.

With that said, we have many things to be thankful for and much also to pray for. I will once again end with what is on our hearts and minds. We appreciate those of you who as a church or individually lift us up in prayer. There is no doubt they are being heard.

1. Paperwork: Title work for the van and also some stateside things that will need to be put in order very soon.

2. Bank/Phone: Poco a poco. This means 'little by little' in Spanish. We don't have to have it TODAY, but it would be fantastic to accomplish it soon!

3. Focus: We are getting a better grasp of the area and what this city is truly all about day by day. It is easy to want to go 100mph and jump right into something the wrong way or be completely out of what God truly has for you to do. Please pray that we adjust quickly and see the doors that God opens and at the right time.
