New Country = New Challenges

Wow! We have been in Guatemala City for 3.5 days and it nearly feels like 3.5 years!

Thank you so much for your prayers for us and thinking of our family. There is no doubt God heard and answered your prayers. Guatemala, like Mexico, is still Latin America, but there are many things here that are different. Other than climate, volcanoes and earthquakes (we already had one!), the sheer amount of people and poverty is staggering. There is a lot to learn and many doors to reach others. We look forward to all that is ahead for our family.

There is differences as pertaining to finances too. Gas is over $4 a gallon here and food is easily higher in cost. Also, most bills are paid through your bank. Little nuances like that make for a bit of a learner curve.

The family seems content and well. We have a huge week ahead so I will end with some prayer requests:

1. Vehicle: We must find a vehicle by the end of the day Thursday. Please pray for this to come to pass. Also, we are trusting the Lord that He will provide what we need to make this purchase.

2. Bank Account: I mentioned that briefly. There are a few hurdles to getting one and I hope to have that cleared up this week also. It is very imperative we have one soon so please pray all is in order to accomplish this soon.

3. Schooling: Tomorrow is a very big day tomorrow for our children. They will attend a new school for the first time here and take placement exams. They are very nervous about this. I beg you to please remember them in your prayers.

4. Focus: Wow. It is so easy to get overwhelmed isn't it? I (Bob) really need to maintain balance and just a general focus right now. Please pray that Tessa and I would be what we need to be for Christ and our children.

We love you all and look forward to posting more and adding some new photos soon!

Praying for you all,

Bob y Tessa

It was so good to read your blog. But I can hear the over whelming need from God to help you with all your needs. I am sure it is quite different from Mexico. I pray for your family often and promise I will keep doing that. I love you all and miss you, but sure it is harder for you because we are in familiar surrondings. God bless you for what you are doing in service for our Lord.
