As we started the work, we knew our focus had to be upon building up the people in Christ and training those that truly wanted to follow Him. I can see clearly why so many folks struggle with this in their churches as it is a true commitment and time consuming. But we are very clearly mandated to do this. Beyond the Sunday School class or a Wednesday night... a more in-depth time of study and training... 'running with the runners'.
For the first year or so we had a 14 week program that each new convert or prospective member went through. It was Sunday mornings before the service, about 1.5 hours per class. We have now decided to use the people who have been in the discipleship program to do the same with others. Please pray as we are starting those studies this week. Some of the folks are nervous, and rightfully so. But we know that their respective growth through true multiplication we be a huge asset to not only them but also God's ministry here in Caucel, Mexico.
We have close to 20 more people that will or should be starting our discipleship course. Please pray for them and the believers here in Caucel as they attempt to reproduce themselves. It is very exciting and very daunting, all at the same time!
